While the person receiving a massage is virtually naked, the body is always covered with a towel or sheet in order to help the client relax during their massage and to stay warm. While men and women require coverage on different areas during a massage, massage professionals and therapists are well trained in maintaining modesty throughout all massages.

The benefits of massage can be experienced through a single massage, but a series of massage treatments will be the most beneficial to any massage recipient, as the effects are successive. Massage can result in a stronger, more toned body and assist in preventing injury. Tension reduction and reduced stimulation of the nervous system as a result of regular massage can also help in an increased energy level.
